Passed CCNP route

Took the CCNP route 642-902 exam today, and passed with a score of 836! I'm so happy because I had failed it last time I took it about 2 weeks ago. Now I just need to pass the other 2 tests, switch and tshoot. After that I'll have CCNP.

Dal Toro

The food at Dal Toro is amazing! Anyone who is thinking about coming to Las Vegas should make this place one of their stops (it's located in the Venetian). I had the pizza, and a lobster pasta dish. Both were to die for! The bartender is super cool, and friendly. So are the chef and owner, who are both from Italy. The only negative thing I could say is it's expensive. However, the prices aren't bad for the type of restaurant it is and location it's in.

In addition to the great food they have an awesome show room full of REALLY expensive cars. I snapped a couple shots of my favorite 2. The door to the showroom is right next to the bar, and be sure to head downstairs to see the rest of the cars.

Lots of changes!

Long time no see! I know I haven't posted in forever, but I've had a lot of changes lately. I got my CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) cert, so now I have that and CompTIA A+. My next goal is CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional), and I'm hoping to have the first test of 3 (ROUTE) passed this week. After CCNP I'll likely go for CCNA Security, but we will see.

My career change required me to move since all you can find in the mountains for jobs are hotel and restaurant/bar work. I decided to move to Las Vegas, NV. Moved in on June 1st, and for a city Las Vegas is pretty cool! Granted being a mountain man from a small town Vegas was a HUGE culture shock when I first got here. Now that I'm settled in though I like it here. However don't get me wrong, I still love the mountains and would prefer to stay there if I could. During my first week here I did a lot of job hunting and landed a tech support job. My start date there will be July 8th so I've got plenty of time to continue my CCNP studies.

That pretty much sums it up, the move made me completely broke so I haven't been able to do a lot (save for some time eating out with family buying). Over time I think I'll be changing this blog to more of a personal journal. Thanks for reading, and I hope you are doing well in your life adventures!

Life is chugging along, with some minor plan adjustments

So in my December post I had mentioned I was going into web development. This is still true, I continue to be the web developer for a few sites, but I've also decided to pick up some Cisco networking certifications over the spring/summer. My goal is to have the CCNP and possibly CCNA (or CCNP) security certs by September. Then I plan on either continuing with web development, or picking up a networking job. If I go the networking route I would come to a fork in the road. If, after working for a time, I wind up liking networking I'll likely go for a CCIE certification. If not, I'll continue working and putting my extra effort/time/money into becoming a software developer. Either way I've got a lot of work ahead of me.

To reach my goal would likely require me to move to a city. Personally I can't stand the city, but with the lack of jobs in the mountains (out side of retail, restaurant, and hotel work) I'm going to have to put up with it in order to make a decent living.

Some trades

I got bored yesterday and made a few trades on the EUR/USD 1M chart. Wound up with like a $20 profit after 2 losses and 1 gain. I forgot to take screenshots though :/. Hope all my reader's trading has been going well!
